The Briar Workshop Two Star Belge Estate Pipe

Started by American pipemaker, Elliot Nachwalter, The Briar Workshop nurtured the careers of several outstanding American pipemakers.  Eventually moving their operation from Vermaont to Coral Springs, FL, Elliot and Brad Pohlman are credited with producing outstanding shapes on turn of the century equipment modified for their batch production.  This slightly bent and straight stemmed belge estate pipe is an excellent example of their work.  While the grain isn't perfect, it is dense and well oriented with an articulated bowl inspired by the burgeoning Danish influence of the time.  There are a few small fills on the bottom of the round shank but this early American work is in excellent condition, light enough to keep clenched from start to finish, and well drilled with a nice, smooth, and open draw.
