Founded by John Hopkins in 1897, Speyburn Distillery offers the authentic Speyside flavor, concocted through tradition and modern know-how. The story goes that the very same year Queen Victoria celebrated her Diamond Jubilee. Hopkins and his crew began the production in November, so the first fillings could be stamped with the Queen's year. The god trickster Murphy made sure everything went wrong and the team managed to fill just one butt before January 1. Production is much better these days and the Single Malt with Granty Burn water source in its DNA is the ninth best selling Single Malt in America. Speyburn is both a wonderful intro to the world of Scotch or a delightful dram for seasoned buffs.
 
This particular expression of a Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky spent fifteen years in American oak and Spanish oak casks. Its character is pure Speyside and is incredibly drinkable. It won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2017, and they were correct! If you loved Bradan Orach, it offers a similar flavor profile, with more depth and complexity.
